Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Gann Profits ("we," "us") collects when you use this site and subscription service, how it is used, and who it is shared with. It applies to gannprofits.com and the dashboard, account, and billing pages that make up the service.

Information We Collect

When you register and use the service, we collect:

• Account information: username, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
• Profile and preference data: your chart settings — observer latitude/longitude, city, timezone, zodiac mode, and (optionally) a phone number — along with any saved observer locations and watchlist symbols you add.
• Billing status: your subscription plan and status (active, cancelled, past due, etc.) and the Stripe customer/subscription IDs used to look up your billing record. See "Payment Information" below for what we do not store.
• Usage and security logs: login and logout events, account-security events (e.g. failed-login lockouts), and billing-related events, each tied to your account where applicable and to the IP address the request came from.

Payment Information

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, you are redirected to a Stripe-hosted Checkout page — your card number and other payment details are entered directly on Stripe's servers and never pass through or touch our servers. We only store the subscription status, plan, and Stripe's own customer/subscription identifiers so we can confirm your access and let you manage or cancel billing through Stripe's billing portal. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.

How We Use It

• To create and secure your account, and to keep you logged in.
• To run the ephemeris and Square-of-Nine calculations your dashboard displays, using your saved observer location and preferences.
• To manage your subscription — activating access on successful payment, and updating or revoking it based on Stripe billing events.
• To send service email: account verification, password reset, a welcome email when your subscription starts, and a confirmation when a payment is charged.
• Occasionally, to send account-holders informational or promotional email about the service (sent by site staff; see "Your Choices" below).
• To detect and slow down abusive activity — e.g. rate-limiting and temporary lockouts after repeated failed logins or registration attempts, keyed to the request's IP address.

Cookies & Analytics

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in; it stores only a session key, not your personal data, and expires automatically after a period of inactivity.

We also use Google Analytics 4 (Google's gtag.js) to understand traffic to our public marketing pages (such as the home and about pages). Google Analytics is deliberately not loaded on your account, settings, billing, or any staff/admin pages — so it never runs on pages where you're logged in and managing your account. On the public pages where it does run, Google Analytics collects standard usage data (pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, browser/device type) under Google's privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with:

• Stripe — to process your subscription payment, as described above.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS SES) — the email service we use to send and receive account, billing, and service email; your email address and the content of emails we send you pass through SES to be delivered.
• Google Analytics — limited, aggregate usage data for our public pages, as described above.
• Market data providers (e.g. Tiingo, Polygon.io) and a shared internal market-data database power the price charts and Square-of-Nine levels you see. These integrations supply market data to the platform — they do not receive any of your personal information.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the security of the service.

Data Retention

We keep your account, profile, and billing data for as long as your account exists. Registrations that are never verified are automatically deleted once their verification code expires. Login, security, and billing event logs are currently retained indefinitely for security and support purposes; if you'd like older activity logs tied to your account removed, contact us using the details below and we'll handle it manually.

Your Choices

• Cancel your subscription any time from the billing portal linked in your account settings — this stops future charges through Stripe.
• Opt out of promotional email: we don't currently have a self-service unsubscribe link on these messages; email us and we'll remove you from future sends. Transactional email tied to your account (verification, password reset, billing receipts) can't be opted out of while your account is active, since it's needed to run the service.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing us — we'll verify it's you and delete your account data, except where we're required to keep billing records for legal/tax reasons.
• Update your profile data (observer location, watchlist, phone number) any time from your account settings page.

Children's Privacy

Gann Profits is a paid financial-analysis tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Passwords are stored using Django's salted password hashing — never in plain text. All production traffic is served over HTTPS (with HSTS enabled), subscription webhooks from Stripe are verified with a signature check before any billing data changes, and repeated failed login or registration attempts trigger a temporary lockout. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using these and other industry-standard safeguards.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
